UNDERWOOD to VOSMUS

UNDERWOOD, WILLIAM PARKER
Born Aug. 9, 1857 in Fayette (son of Albert and Eliza <Tuck> Underwood). Raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason in Lafayette Lodge Apr. 1, 1882. He was in the employ of Maine Central Railroad as fireman and engineer for twenty years. He died in Lewiston July 2, 1899. (Married Annabelle Miller of Fayette in 1886. Buried in Fayette Mills Cemetery)


VOSMUS, HUMPHREY
Born in 1825 (son of John and Abigail <Lane> Vosmus of New Gloucester, Maine). Made a Master Mason at Lafayette Lodge Feb. 14, 1852. He was a tinsmith by trade (most likely with his brother John who lived at Readfield Corner and ran a tinsmith shop there. Humphrey became ill in the early part of 1855 and in his will named his brother John as his executor and beneficiary as well as his wife Ann, brother Charles C of East Readfield and sister Lucinda of Auburn) Humphrey died July 2, 1855. (Married Ann MNU. They are buried in Readfield Corner Cemetery)
